Three generations later… We present to you: Jim’s Ground.

It all started in the 1940’s when our grandfather opened “Don and Bob’s”, the legendary ground round and hots joint snuggled up in Sea Breeze. Twenty years into his run as the lead guy, his sons, Jim and Ralph, stepped up to the plate to help serve the community.

After two decades of hard work at the restaurant and a job or two after, Jim decided to deep dive back into the restaurant business in 1981, Ralph soon to follow. And as it was, Jim and Ralph’s was born. The twin brothers banded together to serve local community members, hard workers on lunch (we can’t forget to mention Kodak), families, friends, and all who ventured through their door.

In 2013, it was time to flip the final burger at Jim and Ralph’s. The twins closed their doors and hugged goodbye their run as business-owning, patty-pressing, burger-flipping, hot-sauce seasoning days…or so they thought.

Just a few months later, we, Jim’s three youngest (Jimmy, Kyle and Lindsay) decided to open the doors of our very own version of the legacy: Jim’s Ground! We did it, of course, with the help of our father and the delicious recipes that he brought to the grill.

In 2015, Jim passed away, but his legacy lives on in our food, in our service, and in our hearts.

Ralph continues to support the restaurant and mentor his niece and nephews. Alongside Ralph, lifetime family friend and long-time employee Mike D’Aries is an irreplaceable force of support, guidance, and knowledge.

Together, we carry on the legacy of our father and continue to represent the Nucelli name, serving the best ground around.
